Insta-Friday Randomness In Crazytown

Hello Friends.
Hello Friday!
Hello Spring Break!
I kicked last weekend off with a fabulous girls night.
Papa John pizza with banana peppers, Dr. Pepper, pie, & crafting!
Saturday I wondered around a dreamy fabric store and had lunch with my BFF. We bought this shirt pattern & can't wait to make it! And I took a yard and a half of that anchor ribbon home because it was love at first sight! Not sure what to do with it...what do you think?!
Andy bought me a mountain bike off Craig's list.
I'm so excited to hit the trails!
This is just the beginning. Totally a starter bike. I aspire to be like those guys up at Winter Park with chest plates and full on body gear.
We spent a lot of time riding bikes last weekend...
around the burbs.
Which meant Brody got his first lil bike helmet.
So stinkin' cute!
Pretty sure I don't rock the bike helmet like little man.
We made corned beef and cabbage this week, found gold from a leprechaun, and painted our nails like a rainbow.
That adorable boy that rocks his new bike helmet like nobody's business...
Got into Ab's hair basket & dumped thousands of those tiny elastic rubber bands EVERYWHERE.
It was lovely.
I finished Christopher Pike's book Remember Me.
It was dark and twisted like all his books.
They are about death, the afterlife, vampires, yogis, demons, angels, faith, ghosts, aliens...
They are out there.
The thing about his books is that there is always an element of spirituality in them that keeps drawing me back.
It's like he has to go to the darkest of dark to illustrate the light of the good.
We went for frozen yogurt after AJ's parent teacher conference.
It's always entertaining to see what they end up with.
It's never about the frozen yogurt to my family.
It's about the toppings.
The frozen yogurt is just a technicality that allows the toppings.
A trip to Yourtini never disappoints.
I am a sucker for Snow White.
Thank you Disney Store for taking away all my sense of practicality...
and all my money.
We are going to rock the pool scene this summer.
It's officially spring break even if the forecast looks more like winter break.
Thank you Mother Nature.
We gifted AJ's teacher with Bath & Body Works new Fresh Picked strawberry line for spring break.
Because we can day dream of warmer weather.

Have a great weekend!

I Suck At...

drinking water.

I try.
But I fail repeatedly.

I'm perpetually dehydrated.

I buy cute water bottles to help.
And they do...for a little while.

Then I fall off the wagon again.
And drink Dr. Pepper or Starbucks instead.

Last summer I tried making flavored water with fresh fruit,
and it was so refreshing.
I loved it.
Then I got lazy and stopped making it.

See, I suck at drinking water.

Inspired by The Yummy Life
I'm going to try the flavored water thing again.

Look at her beautiful pictures!
How could I not succeed this time?!
And I get to buy 2 quart mason jars.

2 quart mason jars.
It has to work.

DIY Spa Girls Night

Last Friday one of my most favorite people hosted a DIY spa girls night!

We ate.
We told stories.
We laughed.
We drank Dr. Pepper.
We made fun stuff together.
It was so refreshing and uplifting.
It was simply delightful.
It was good for the soul.

And I am in love with everything we made!

We made Crystal Light Lip Gloss
So easy and so delicious!

We made Gardener's Hand Scrub
Again so easy and so amazing!
It smells lovely and makes your hands feel so soft.

We made Fizzy Energizing Bath Crystals
So easy and magical!
I'm not kidding!
They really fizz when you put them in your bath water!
How fun is that?!

There are so many fun possibilities with these treats!
A spa birthday party!
Gifts!
Girls Nights!
Mother Daughter Dates!

Insta-Friday

Happy Friday.
I love shrimp and pasta.
So does Brody.

Here's what our last weekend was like.

I wasn't as bad as they predicted.

We got in some movie time and sledding.

Abby went to a princess spa birthday party, so AJ requested his own spa experience. Complete with cucumber slices.

We made more laundry detergent from this post.

This is the before and after of mom freaking out.
Seriously why do they do that to their room?
I'm addicted to Downy's Unstopables scent booster.
It helps me get through laundry.

Face timed with my sis as she opened her birthday box.

Love that gal.

We are going rock some good times this summer in our shades.

Love his sweet little toes.

And how he sleeps with his bum up in the air.

Pretty much love everything about nap time.

And I always have grand plans to be ubber productive during nap time.

But sometimes I just do this...

A 71 degree sunny afternoon required a wardrobe change...

And trip to park yesterday afternoon.

Buy This Song

Some people are just good people.
Pure, authentic good people through and through.

Kristina is one of the good ones.
A beautiful, loving, joyful, Godly young woman that is following her dream to be a star.

We grew up with my Aunt Glennie's fabulous hugs, hand sewn Barbie clothes, and down home cooking.  She is my second cousin that has always had a positive outlook on the world.

A girl daughters can look up to and aspire to be like.
She loves God, her family, and everyone she meets.

Buy her song on iTunes.
She deserves to make it big.

So In Love With Anchors

I mean I can't get enough of them lately.
A hope both sure and steadfast.  How powerful is that?!
And thus my love for anchors blossomed.
This print is from The Educated Owl & needs to be in my home.

These whimsical tags and printable gift wrap are free to print over at

This perfectly simple ring from Wanelo makes my heart flutter.
Wanelo is like a pinterest where you can buy everything!
Say what?!

She And Jack stole my heart with this little charm.

What could I make with this beautiful fabric from Bumble Tees?!
I could make lots and lots.
And lots.

I want to wear this scarf everyday everwhere!

Lovin' this layered bracelet
I daydream about wearing it with a tank and capris and flip flops.

Insta-Friday

Hello Friday.
Hello weekend.
Hello impending snow storm.
I can't wait to snuggle up and stay warm at home.
I want to just watch movies, read books, and drink hot chocolate in my pj's for the next two days.
Sounds dreamy. Doesn't it.

Last weekend Andy made my fave, French toast.
Weekend breakfasts are the best.
Trying to entertain an 18 month old and focus at church is hard.
At one point I looked around and realized no one else was kneeling...
And apparently hadn't been for a while once I realized what part of the mass we were on.
I made the sign of the cross and played it off like I was deep in prayer...not deep in over-tired mama la-la land.
We had papa's birthday party at our house.
Andy smoked ribs, and I made southern cornbread.
We had key lime pie for dessert.
It was delightful.
Ab's flowers from Sunday school sprouted and made me super excited for spring and gardening and being outside.
We had a play date with a new friend.
I love these trays like they use in school cafeterias.
They are 97 cents each at Wal-Mart.
They make me happy.
I discovered that Jelly Belly makes Dr. Pepper jelly beans
and mentioned it to Andy as a random passing thought.
He surprised me later that night with a bag of them.
I keep talking about a farmhouse in the country too...
We read a lot of Dr. Seuss books this week,
and I surprised the kids with The Cat In The Hat on DVD.
Good times.
I had fun shopping for a Barbie themed birthday party.
I started reading this book on Tuesday and finished it Thursday.
It consumed me.
Love this boy up.
Love his open mouth kisses.
And soft velvety head.
And squeals of joy.
And pudgy cheeks.
I printed these adorable animal flashcards for free
HERE.
Seriously. Yellow stuffed Oreos is pure happiness in the form of a cookie.
Well played Nabisco. Well played.
Love when this girl's hair is fixed.
It was so nice out, we spent an afternoon at the park this week.
It was fabulous.
I wanted it to last forever.
We ventured to the mall for some princess birthday gift shopping after swimming for a couple hours with AJ's classmates.
I was nervous. The natives were tired.
It was risky.
I braced myself.
I could have ended in tears.
We wandered through the Lego store and The Disney Store.
And got cookies at Mrs. Field's before checking out the puppies at the pet store.
Then made wishes at the fountain on our way out.
It was fun and drama free.
Whew.
And now we are battening down the hatches for another snow storm.
