Candy Corn Bark, ABC AJ Shirt & Thomas

white chocolate chips
 mini pretzels
 crushed up oreos
 candy corn
a.m.a.z.i.n.g candy corn bark!

It was only a matter of time before I had to play with AJ's name & the alphabet...

I think the hearts are cute...& no,
he did not get beat up in preschool because of them.
AJ's dream came true today.

He got to meet his

The one he wears on his underwear,
sleeps in at night,
carries to school on his backpack & lunch box,
plays with hours on end a day.

The one that cost us $70 for a 3-D birthday cake...yeah, that one.

He got to ride
Thomas the train.

It was insane.
We had to park 3 miles away and be shuttled in.
Along with hundreds of other Thomas obsessed children.
His cousin, Corbin, was there to experience such a special day in AJ's lifetime.
They truly bonded.
Even have matching Harold the helicopter temporary tattoos now.
Andy may have been as excited as AJ,
but he didn't get to have a Harold tattoo.
& yes he asked if he could get one.

AJ got to sit in Aunt Val's fire truck...
& spray the fire hose.
It pays to know people.

Highlight of my day:
AJ hopped off the shuttle bus and independently said,
"Thanks you!"
to the bus driver.
My little sassy Mister might end up with good manners...

Around The World In A Wagon

Our neighborhood had our first porch crawl Saturday.
We started with a treasure hunt in the Caribbean.
Then to Switzerland for chocolate fondue, flags, & Swiss bank accounts.
Followed by limbo & Blue Hawaiians at a Luau.

Then to Mexico for yummy tacos, tropical play doh...
& a pinata!
Off to Texas for lil' smokies, pink lemonade, &
stick horse races!
Concluding the evening in New Orleans with masks, king cake & yummy por' boys!

Leg Warmers & Rose Hips

Up to the mountains...
out with the long sleeves, leg warmers, fun hats...
sweaters, quilts....
& hoodies
to search for rose hips & make jelly!
(a childhood throwback for Andy)
(What the heck is a rose hip?)

After a fun filled day of collecting rose hips,
daddy decided to be manly & chop up (mutilate) some wood...
after a couple swings AJ looked at Andy & said,
"You're not very good at that..."

HA!  I about fell over laughing...

It's Back!!!

& I L.O.V.E. it!!!
Better than I could have ever imagined!!!
Perfect for snuggling!!!

According To AJ:

1.  School is cool because they play choo choo like a train when they leave the room & they paint...

2.  Lunch is better on a stick...
3.  It is okay to talk to the neighbor's dog through the fence because they are "best friends."
4.  If you can't find your shoes, you should just use a Mega Blocks Wagon...
5.  You always have to wear a hat to feed the neighbor's dog when dog sitting...even if you are a guest...
6.  You should never try & wave with one hand while riding a horse...that is scary...
7.  You should be able to take a sunflower home from the Sunflower only seems fair...

AJ's First Day Of Preschool

Here is the little man with his Thomas back pack!
Man, he looks like trouble...
(just pretend you don't see the mess behind AJ in the picture below...okay...thanks)
He was ready to go!...even though I was struggling...just a bit...
kinda wanted to keep him little forever... I know what it is like for parents to leave their kids in their teacher's hands...
I think I will forever be a softer teacher after this morning...

Daddy told me I had to leave after AJ found his name...
I left...slowly...reluctantly...
He didn't even notice...
I guess it is better that way...
My little boy all grown up...

tear...lots of tears...sniffle...big sniffle...
