What a week.

Such a week that we started counting down to summer.

We need a break.

I squeezed in an AJ/mama date while Abby and Brody were at an American Heritage Girls childcare event.

He chose to go to Starbucks and get a new book to read.

A boy after my own heart...Starbucks and walking around a book store.

I had the honor of attending a Mother Daughter Tea with Abby last weekend. We had tea, yummy treats, and enjoyed a fun fashion show with good friends. Love that sassy girl up!

We wore our MJ and cowgirl boots to the Tea!
Be still my heart.

We were having bible study Saturday night when Ab and AJ came running screaming that there was an emergency and Brody's head was bleeding.
Little Man tripped and fell into the corner of a flagstone stair and ended up with a nice size hole in his forehead. The kind that nearly makes a mama throw up upon sight of it.
So off to the hospital we went.

5 stitches later Brody was all smiles again. And we were very thankful for good friends that kept Ab and AJ overnight.

Ab called him Frankenstein all week.

I just call him Scarface now.

Poor kid.

Sunday we had the Small Wonders spring concert.

Abby's performance was pretty spectacular. True dramatic Abby style...when she wasn't disctracted looking at herself on the big screen.

Then my class of 5 year olds attended mass with me. In the very front pew. That wasn't stressful at all. It was a very prayerful mass on my part to say the least.

Following mass, I rushed off to co-host a Southern Belle baby shower.

Love me some lace and mason jars.

You know summer is coming when Chick-fil-A brings back peach shakes.

Holla.

Crafted it up with a neighbor friend this week. Kid handprint and footprint crafts never get old.

MJ had their 4th spring release and took all my money again.

Crazy excited about that!

Ab had her ballet pics.
Love that she loves dancing so much.
She was in awe of the older girls and danced and twirled all night afterward.

Then today was Crazytown.

7am PTO meeting, trip to hospital to get Brody's stitches out, play date, and a second trip back to the hospital when Brody's forehead started opening back up again.

Dear Lord, please no more trips to the hospital. Amen.

Here's to a safe, restful weekend...

Hello Friends! This week flew by.

Last Friday we got all decked out in our red, white, and blue for AJ's 1st grade patriotic program!

It was super cute. We could definitely tell a lot of hard work went into it.

AJ was crazy excited for this day to come.

He learned 7 songs, lines for his speaking part, made a Liberty Bell, Washington a Monument and Statue of Liberty, and wrote a book about United States symbols!

So proud of his boy!

After the program we helped daddy pick out a shirt for Easter and hit Happy Hour! Love me some Sonic.

After happy hour we rushed to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt! So fun every year. Brody was the only one I could keep up with this year...

Love this pic by Sharon Arnoldi.

Saturday we ventured to AJ's soccer game.

Then I got my hair done.

I went for a no maintainance summer do.

Then I panicked afterward.

I always do this...get impatient....cut my hair...regret cutting it...say I'll never cut it again...get impatient....cut my hair...regret cutting it...say I'll never cut it again...

When I was looking for ideas of what the kids could give up for Lent I came across the idea of giving up wearing make-up for Lent and thought oh I could never do that.

But as soon as that thought entered my mind I had to prove to myself that I could.

It was a humbling 46 days. It was a new challenge with every new place and set of beautiful people I knew I would see....or set of beautiful people that would see me without make-up.

I have blonde eye lashes and look like I'm either 12 years old...or really hagered without eyeliner and mascara. I haven't gone a day without make-up since I was 14 years old. This was huge for me.

It was an interesting experience to put my raw self out there.

It was actually very liberating and refreshing to know nothing changes if I don't wear make-up.

People still see me for me.

Love the lamb shaped butter every Easter...

And the lamb coconut cake.

Don't love the fam getting blindsided with a tummy bug.

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.

Do love neighbors bringing yummy chicken noodle soup with magical healing powers.

AJ had assessment day this week, and we visited the book fair.
Loved the book fair as a kid. Love the book fair as an adult.
Ab picked out Barbie books.
Brody picked out a Planes book and a Turbo book.

AJ picked out two Diary of a Wimpy Kid books.

And hasn't put them down since he got them.

Love to see the world around him melt away as he falls into reading.

Have a great weekend!

We have a full weekend planned.

Soccer...tea parties...birthday parties...bible study...church concert...

No rest for the wicked as my mom used to say.

Happy Good Friday!

So excited for Easter this weekend!

April is flying by.

We got this visitors guide in the mail this week!

Charleston, South Carolina!

For 4 days! Without kids!

Exactly how ten years of marriage should be celebrated!

Southern comfort food, beaches, sweet tea, fresh seafood, a lighthouse.

I can't wait to stroll through the farmers market in a sundress with Andy.

Seriously this girls dream.

June can't come soon enough!

Sundress and flip flops! Now that's more like it Colorado!

I could get used to this.

A friend gifted me with Easter M&M's this week.

I ate the entire bag.

I have no self-control.

Love those spring colors! Especially that periwinkle and teal together. Can't get enough of that color combo. It needs to be an Easter dress!

And purple. I'm really into purple this season.

We were blessed to hang out with Great Grandma Joyce last Saturday.

We fit in breakfast, a soccer game, and lunch.

I hung out with 400 teenagers Monday night for a huge Young Life club.
400 kids on a Monday night just hanging out and learning about Jesus.
That's what I want my kids to be doing as teenagers.
The message was...
Often times our actions determine our verdict, but what if we reversed our thinking and consider allowing the verdict to determine our actions.
The verdict is in: Jesus died for us...
Now, how are our actions going to reflect that.
He loves us. He suffered and died for us. He forgave us.
Talk about being inspired to go out and be the good in the world.

AJ had a make-up soccer game this week.

He's much more in the game this season.

Brody likes going to the games...to play on the playground.

My MJ order came in!
Happiest box ever!
Ribbons and ruffles and super cute fabric! Be still my heart.
It totally inspired me to clean out my closet!
Now that is some serious inspiration.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend with your fam!

I plan to!

Hello friends!

Another awesome week in these parts.

Abby and Brody had my phone the other day.

I found these pictures later...

It amazes me that my children are growing up taking pictures with iPhones.

I grew up with glow worms, Cabbage Patch kids, and Troll dolls.

I wonder what their kids will grow up with?

I had my trunk show last weekend! So fun! Mamas and daughters trying on adorable clothes... Drinking lemonade, eating fruit pizzas/ caprese apps/funfetti dip.

I love the smell of dirt. I love seeing my seedlings grow. I do not love not having counterspace because of trays of the said seedlings.

Can't it just be the end of May already?!

Got my first issue of Country Living!

Love a new magazine...especially one about comfort food and country cottages!

AJ had his first spring soccer game. He was on top of his game. I think it was because of the new cleats. He said they made him run faster.

This boy wakes up so happy every day. He wakes up bursting with a smile and his arms open ready for a snuggle hug! We fight over who gets to get him up in the morning. It's that good.

Can't get enough of him. His happiness is contagious.

Andy took the kiddos to Home Depot last weekend to make birdfeeders while I spent all our money at my trunk show.

They were so excited to hang them outside. And are so excited to watch the birds every morning.

Brody says, "Birds! Birds! Look guys, BIRDS!"

Who needs Disney World when your kids get this excited about birds?!

AJ got to ride his bike to school for the first time this spring. That boy loves to ride his bike to school. And we are blessed with a friend brave enough to let him do it. She's my shero.
I was gifted with a kid-free afternoon of shopping at a consignment sale this week with a good friend. I love a good bargain and every mom deserves a kid-free afternoon every once and awhile.
I treated these 2 to the Jamba Juice on Thursday.
Love me some Jamba Juice.
Love these kids. Even if that's the face she makes when I say smile.
Shameless plug: If you love Jamba Juice and are local... I can hook you up with a BOGO free punch card.
$10 for 8 BOGO free Jamba Juices.
The money goes to help awesome teenagers go to Young Life camp and learn about Jesus!

Brody thinks he's riding to school with the big boys...in his footie pj's....
Dream boy little boy. You'll grow into those dreams one day.

Have a fabulous weekend!
