Insta-Saturday

Another fun summer week in the hood.

We had a Wizard of Oz movie night for our little munchcin, AJ, one night.

His big acting debut is this fall in the high school play.

That kid's courage never ceases to amaze me.

He just puts himself out there.

I worked on altering a pattern to make a circus tent.

18 yards of fabric....

And a few Dr. Peppers later....

It all started coming together...

And we ended up with a perfect photo prop!

I declared Starbucks' Blackberry Mojito Tea Lemonade my drink of the summer. #yummo

We had a pool day with good buddies one morning.

And got ready for the 4th!

Found this little guy in bed a couple times this week.

He's so sweet and cuddly.

We kinda worked on potty training one day.

I hate potty training. Hate it.

Loving these bright flowers everyday.

Ab and I pampered ourselves with our jam berry nail wraps.

So fun and summery!

And now we start prepping for AJ's bday party!

Camp AJ commences in one week!

4th of July 2014

We love the 4th of July!

Love, love, love it!

This year we started with doughnuts.

Then the bike parade...

This kid was loving it.

We watched the parade...

Then we set up for the block party! Such an awesome turn out this year! 16 families chilling, visiting, splashing in water, eating, drinking, setting off fireworks....

Lots of yummy treats were consumed...

An awesome dad on the block set off some fireworks.

The kids were absolutely LOVING it!

The parents may have been loving it as much as the kids.

Good times.

Then we drove up the hill, laid out some quilts and pillows and watched multiple fireworks shows.

Best 4th of July ever!

Already planning for next year!

Circus Photo Mini Session!!!

Is there anything more whimsical than a Circus?!

I mean seriously! The excitement and wonder of childhood is captured under the big top! If we could just bottle up that sense of awe.

I will always remember going to the circus with my brothers and sisters as a kid. Getting cotton candy, being captivated by the tightrope walkers, watching the animals...

Today we captured that essence of childhood excitement. In a photo shoot. A photo shoot I will cherish forever. Because nothing can articulate the pure bright, personality of my children like this photo can.

I cannot even handle all that is in this photo!

To me there is nothing more valuable than capturing these fleeting moments. I will cherish these moments forever. The essence of AJ starting to seem so big all of a sudden...Abby's flair for dramatics...Brody's little old man soul wrapped up in a little boy. Be.still.my.heart.

Her work is incredible! And I can say that from many photo sessions with her where my kids were uncooperative bundles of energy, but we ended up with soooo many amazing pictures! That my friends is priceless!
