If I Had

this laundry room, I might be more motivated to do laundry.

Finding Balance

So with this pg, I'm having some lovely blood sugar issues.

Apparently I am hyperglycemic...
a condition in which an excessive amount of glucose circulates in the blood plasma.

Basically I have to limit my sugar intake,
eat every two hours,
and make sure to have lots of protein.

Or I pass out.

I may be a little stubborn.
(according to Andy)

After the initial "scare the hell out of my co-workers" episode...
I may have tested my limits twice...
only to be put back in my place...
quickly mainlining high doses of protein to maintain a conscious state.

It sucks.

I have to be a little more creative to appease my rabid sweet tooth.

And I think a peanut butter cup smores counts as balancing my protein with my sugar...

Don't you?

Undecided On This One

A dresser repurposed as an island...

Not sure if I love it or think it's trying too hard.

I always wanted an island, but our kitchen is so small.

This could be a perfect solution...

Maybe it's just the color that I'm struggling with...

On The Patio

That's right! On the patio, not the deck!
This is a big week for me folks!

You see 6 years ago when Andy said, "I can build a deck!"...
I didn't question him.

I just assumed he had built a deck...or at least participated in helping build a deck before.

Wrong.

Apparently our deck was his first deck.

It was...
an interesting structure to say the least.

I love my husband.

But he is not allowed to build anything after the deck.

This week the school year ends

AND

the stamped concrete patio goes down!

I am one happy lady.

I have big plans to hang out, drink fruity refreshing drinks (like ginger ale with strawberries), read, supervise the sandbox, and some days just simply do nothing on this patio.

And leave it to Martha Stewart to grace us with a clever way to keep those pesky bugs out of our patio drinks...upside down cupcake wrappers...huh...who would have thought...

Great Kid Snack

Apple sandwich with granola, peanut butter, and chocolate chips!

Heck yeah! Bring it on!

When I'm a stay-at-home momma, I am totally making my kiddos snacks like this.

Right now they're lucky if I remember to take the sticker off the apple when I rinse it off and toss it at them...I mean to them.

Bambino Number Three

One of my favorite parts of a new bundle of joy is picking a name...
so we usually have one picked out for both sexes early in the pg...

I like strong, old fashioned names.

This little one shall be named:

Broderick Allen

But we'll call him Brody.

Addison James, Abigail Catherine, & Broderick Allen...
aka AJ, Abby, & Brody...
sounds like an intelligent, adventure seeking, well-rounded lot to me.

Broderick sounds so bold and masculine.

And being a teacher...I have certain associations with certain names...
I can only hope our little one has the passion and character
of the Broderick I had the honor of teaching.
I'm pretty sure that kiddo will be running the country one day.

Allen is after Andy's dad's middle name.

Brody with a y after my college roommate...
I hope this little one has as much spunk and zest for life as her.

We have our sensitive, analytical one & our sassy, head-strong one...
no telling what we are in for next...

Mother's Day

I asked for a day at the spa...

Andy planned a day planting flowers with the kids...
(I may have thrown something at him...)

Notice the children are not in any pictures...

They were running down the street screaming...

I looked the other way and asked who those unruly children belonged to...

I did talk (nag) him into a manicure by the end of the afternoon...

It all worked out in the end.

3 Kids, 2 Parents, Only 4 Chairs

We realized the other night that...

With bambino number three on the way,
we do not have enough chairs for everyone to sit at the dining room table.

With a hutch, an art easel, the trash can, the dog bowls, and two desks in the dining room...
we prefer the booster seat that straps to a chair
instead of the huge stand alone highchair to save space.

So we started looking around for more seating options...
I tend to take a while to make these kinds of decisions...

Now if it were a yard of fabric or a pair of flip flops, I'm an impulse shopper all the way...
a piece of furniture that will not perfectly match the rest of the dining set,
may take a while for me to fall in love with or settle for.

AJ and Abby always want their chair pushed together to sit by each other anyway...
so this may just work out great.
