her zest to follow in her brother's footsteps...
her daring curiosity and fearless optimism...
her enthusiasm for all things girly...

No Rhyme or Reason: Random

I love anything shabby chic...esp. while ruffles

I hate black licorice

It creeps me out when men do not wear undershirts

I love my Nook

I wish it was spring already

I love polka dots and gingham

I have no self-discipline when it comes to chocolate...or really any candy

I love angel hair pasta, but not spaghetti pasta

I miss Kansas

I think photography would be a fun career path

I hate markers and Elmer's glue

I love anything cranberry...except the cranberry tea at Sonic...something went terribly wrong with that combo

I cannot stand it when a woman calls me hon or honey or sweetie....really if you are female and especially if you are younger than not call me any form of an enduring comes across as condescending...and could strongly impact your tip

I respect you a little bit more if you follow the sequence of the color spectrum when using multiple colors

I love peach pie with vanilla ice cream and homemade lemonade

Synthetic Ice

Our rec. center has a synthetic ice skating rink...
as in really thick pieces of plastic snapped together & skates you can rent.

& this weekend I had an itch to get out and do something fun...
You can see where this is going.

I am not kidding.
This was laugh till your cheeks ache, tears stream down your face, & your side hurts
kind of fun for only $10.
Girlfriend always has that pissed off look on her face no matter what we are doing...
(unless it involves food)
& the only part of the winter cold she appreciates
is accessorizing with coats, hats, scarves, and mittens...
other than that she has no use for it.
AJ on the other hand...
had the time of his life.
He thinks he is a pro ice skater.
He had a special kind of ice walking and spontaneous jump combo thing going on.
It was quite entertaining.
Overall, I say a $10 well spent.

It's All About Strategy

I am not going to lie.

I am competitive.
really. competitive.
I enjoy strategy and out-witting someone.
Perhaps to an unhealthy level at times.

Andy has slept on the couch as a result of some of these games.

I like to win.

The mechanics are relatively simple in each game,
but the dynamics can become quite complex.

So if you are anything like me
and enjoy the thrill of a sneak attack or an unforeseen victory,
you should try them.

But set some ground rules with your spouse first.

Product Of A Snowday

Way, way back in the day
(I don't really want to admit exactly how far back),
I made a block.I was not in love.

So it sat, neglected on my craft shelf...
for a long, long time.

I do not do well with unfinished projects.

They haunt me until I come back to them.

So a couple weeks ago when I was gifted with a snowday and no current project to be distracted by,
I saw that unfinished project out of the corner of my eye...
and a table runner was born.
I finally finished hand binding it
in between episodes of Dexter and True Blood.
It will live happily ever after with my sister.

Space Sand

This kid loves science...and the color pink.

I picked up some Space Sand from U.S. Constructive Playthings for $3 and
we had a good 30 minutes of entertainment.
It was super cool.
You just fill a bowl with water...
and dump it in.
Space Sand is ordinary sand that has been exposed to the vapors of a silicon compound called trimethylhyroxysilane...making it unbondable with water.
It is similar to sand on Mars...
which really impressed this four year old.
Space Sand is being used in experiments covering the Mars Exploration...
as if this boy wasn't already in love with the stuff.

The Water Rescue

"Mom please help me get my frog out."

"Out of where AJ?"
"AJ what is your frog doing in my flowers?"
"He was thirsty mom."
