Pizza Monkey Bread

Andy and the kids love pizza...they try to add it to the menu every week...

I get tired of pizza...

so we try pizza variations...
last week we made pizza dogs for lunch...
not bad...for a hot dog with pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese shredded on top...

Pizza Monkey Bread was a big hit with the whole family!

I mean...come on...
bread, garlic butter, cheese, and pepperoni...
you can't go wrong!

Abby was sold at the word monkey.

It is pretty simple to make,
but is time consuming stuffing each piece.

Abby and AJ loved helping with each step though!
Ingredients:
  • 2 loaves frozen bread dough (I used 4 rolls of biscuits and cut each biscuit in half.)
  • 1/2 lb pepperoni (I used part of a bag of mini pepperoni.)
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted (I added garlic salt to make garlic butter.)
  • 1 lb cubed mozzarella cheese
Directions:
  1. Defrost bread. (or open biscuits)
  2. Cut each loaf into 60 pieces. (or each biscuit in half)
  3. Cut cheese and pepperoni into 120 pieces each. (if using biscuits it ends up about 80 pieces)
  4. Spread out dough with your fingers and place one piece of cheese and one piece of pepperoni inside.
  5. Seal dough tightly.
  6. Dip each piece in melted butter and pile in a bundt pan.
  7. Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.
We dipped it in pizza sauce and had some steamed veggies!

This would make a fun appetizer for a potluck too...
if you're not into kid food for dinner.
